Fantastic Run
comes to an end
Bearcats, District Champs, ousted
from state basketball tournament
After an amazing run that began down the homestretch of the regular season and culminated with another District 3, Class AAAA championship, the boys basketball season came to an end Wednesday in a 59-53 loss to Abington in the second round of states.
Prior to the season-ending loss at Coatesville High School, the Bearcats had won 15 of 16 games, with the only loss coming at the hands of Central in the YAIAA championship game.
The team rebounded from that county championship loss with a nice run through districts, including a two-point victory over Cedar Crest in the championship game, the school's 11th district title and second in three years. The team narrowly missed a three-peat, losing to Harrisburg last year by two points in overtime.
With the entire starting five returning, the Bearcats are undoubtedly already looking forward to next year.
